Created from a desire to engage with original and Australian ideas and voices, StoryKids is the podcast putting the spotlight on young voices across the nation. Engaging and educational, the 10-minute podcasts feature an original story written by a child, brought to life by prominent Australian personalities.
From the likes of our very own friend of David Jones, Adam Goodes, to Yumi Stynes and Andy Griffiths, each storyteller reflects different cultural, social and environmental experiences, with a strong focus on amplifying marginalised voices.
To celebrate NAIDOC Week, Adam Goodes joins actor and director Shari Sebbens to read ‘The Night Sky Restaurant’ by the effervescent sisters, Nadine, Imogen and Chloe Kenny. With a dream of opening a restaurant in the shed at the back of their property, the story follows a tale of three girls feeding their community.
Developed in partnership with the Australian Literacy and Numeracy Foundation (ALNF), StoryKids ties into their mission of raising language, literacy and numeracy standards in Australia. Since 2016, David Jones has partnered with ALNF to work together to ensure that all children can write their own bright futures.
