Bellenda

There’s Prosecco and then there’s Prosecco. Bellenda is the undisputed quality leader in the zone and the brothers who run this brilliant estate in the hills north of Venice are amongst the greatest sparkling wine producers in Italy. So much so the Sei Uno was nominated as one of the Top 100 wines in Italy, a first for Prosecco.

A set of Riedel Performance Champagne Glasses makes the perfect pairing with this pour – for yourself or someone special.

Amen Break

Amen Break is an under-the radar ripper. Every year these guys turn out remarkable quality for the price and this year is no exception. Of course, it all makes sense when you find out that Matt Harrop (winemaker at Curly Flat) and his NZ-based winemaking brother Steve are behind the label. The Chardonnay combines lovely peach and citrus with a complex backbeat of meal and grilled nuts. It puts wines at triple the price to shame.

Simply chill and serve on a summer evening. A set of Riedel’s Veritas Oaked Chardonnay Glasses showcase this zingy medium-bodied drop perfectly.

Chateau Coupe-Roses

There are hundreds of wineries that pepper the hills of the Languedoc in France’s south so when you stumble across one like Chateau Coupes-Roses you jump on it. While everything they make is of quality, given it’s the season for rosé we thought that was the one to highlight. It’s dry and savoury, redolent of nectarine, white petals and tarragon. It’s a food wine and pairs up beautifully with lighter meals on long summer days.

A set of The Extreme Glasses from Riedel are perfectly contoured for showing off this juicy French tipple.

Mauro Veglio

Mauro and Daniela Veglio make Barolo from about 20 hectares of prime sites across the communes (although mostly La Morra) of the Langhe Hills. While most of their wines hold the DNA of the home commune – wafting florals and more pliant textures – the Castelletto is from Monforte d’Alba where the wines express more dark tones. The 2017 is all about dark cherry, red petals, amaro herbs and ferrous flecks. Perfect with poultry, beef or truffle.

Riedel’s Veritas New World Pinot Noir Glass is perfect for showcasing this bold, fruit-forward wine.

Clarence House

We see thousands of wines cross the tasting bench in any given year and in 2021 Clarence House Pinot Noir was one that blew us away. It’s from the Coal River Valley in Southern Tassie – fast becoming a hotbed for quality pinot production – and shows lovely depth of red and black cherry fruits, subtle spice and lingering florals. The perfect accompaniment to duck or simply enjoyed on its own.

We’re serving this stunning tipple in a Veritas Old World Pinot Noir Glass from Riedel.
