As part of the David Jones new-season AW19 Collections Launch at MONA Tasmania, guests experienced the best in fashion, beauty and lifestyle.
The Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) in Hobart, Tasmania played host to The Art of Living – an immersive, two-day new season launch on February 5 and 6.
Guests travelled to Tasmania with Bose headphones and Samsonite suitcases in tow, while indulgent Welcome Packs, including beauty essentials and Sheridan robes and eye masks, were waiting in their hotel rooms.
Highlighting the store’s incredible homewares and food offering, the welcome lunch – which featured guests including Teresa Palmer, Nadia Fairfax, Yan Yan Chan, Ksenjia Lukich and Kate Waterhouse – featured a botanical foraging table and Robert Gordon dinnerware made exclusively for David Jones. Sleek additions from Georg Jensen and Dinosaur Designs completed the all-natural look.
The evening runway event featured over 100 looks on 24 models, including David Jones Ambassadors Jessica Gomes and Victoria Lee, plus international supermodel Gemma Ward and MTV presenter Cameron Robbie.
The AW19 show features the best of the season from David Jones’ stable of exclusive designers across fashion, beauty and accessories including Balenciaga, Bianca Spender, Kenzo and Kate Sylvester. Cult womenswear label RIXO London – new and exclusive to David Jones – opened the show.
“‘The Art of Living autumn winter season at David Jones is about expressing yourself,” says David Jones General Manager of Womenswear and Accessories, Bridget Veals. “A strong injection of colour and prints features heavily on the runway which in turn translate beautifully across all categories.”
The following morning, while sipping Tasmanian raspberry smoothies, guests enjoyed a yoga and wellness session hosted by David Jones General Manager of Beauty, Rachel Duffy-Packer and actress Teresa Palmer.
The event showcased David Jones expanding lifestyle offering, which includes homewares from Keep Cup and Vitamix, wellness favourites from WelleCo, Kora, The Beauty Chef and Bear Vitamins, and activewear from P.E. Nation, The Upside and more.
