Oribe Body Collection Duo

Introducing Oribe’s Holiday Collection:

2019 brings a partnership between Oribe Hair Care and Block Shop a Los Angeles-based textile brand and design studio. Block Shop, founded by Hopie and Lily Stockman, is a team of artists and craftspeople obsessed with process and materials. They bring their ideas to life through exquisite textiles made by hand.

Using a traditional Indian block printing method, sisters, Hopie and Lily have co created four original works of art for Oribe’s holiday packaging. Each piece was hand-printed by fifth generation master craftspeople in India, using carved wooden blocks and natural dyes on paper handmade from cotton rag. These vibrant prints play upon the timeless theme of balance through arcs and stripes that are bold, harmonious and optimistic.

The Oribe and Block Shop collaboration embodies the giving spirit of the holiday season. Oribe applauds Block Shop’s efforts to invest 5% of its profits each year into community health and empowerment programs in India. Futhermore, for the 2019 holiday sets, Oribe reduced its impact on the environment by switching to a green packaging partner to produce the exterior packaging at zero emission, at a zero-waste facility using 100% clean energy and 100% recycled or reused water. The sets are made from 100% post-consumer recycled (PCR) paper and include an internal tray made from 100% biodegradable and renewable plant fiber, avoiding 17,000 pounds of plastic entering landfills.

Each customized, hand-made print represents a different natural element found in Jaipur, India.

PENDULUM 

Symbolic of balance and keeping time, this print is inspired by Jantar Mantar, a 17th-century celestial park in Jaipur, which features distinct, rounded architectural design.
