Nectar D'Or Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Brand History:

The Glenmorangie whisky is distilled in the tallest copper pot stills in Scotland. The height of their necks alone is 5.14 metres, equivalent height to an adult giraffe.  This means that when we distil our spirit, we collect only the finest and smoothest of spirit, as the heavier and impure alcohols fall back down the still.

Product Profile:

Deriving its name from the Gaelic word for “gold” and extra-matured in French barriques from Sauternes, the single-malt Nectar d’Or is a whisky of honeyed indulgence. Inspired by the allure and romance of French patisserie, this whisky gradually opens up in the glass. When a touch of water is added, brioche and croissant aromas burst through.

Tasting Notes:

Lime and orange rind relax into notes of rich, fruity sultanas and dates, finishing with aromas of coconut and nutmeg. After initial ginger and nutmeg flavours, toasted almonds bring a warming feeling. A lemon meringue and honeycomb middle is followed by a gently spiced backbone.

The perfect serve - Enjoy neat, with a little water or 2-3 large rocks of ice

Craftsmanship:

The creation of Nectar d'Or involves a 10-year maturation period in American white-oak casks.
 From here, the blend is moved over to hand-selected wine barriques from Sauternes for two years of extra-maturation, where it is infused with rich, spicy and pastry-like flavours.
 As a finishing touch, the whisky is non-chill filtered to develop additional character and mouthfeel.
