Chichibu Distillery, founded by Ichiro Akuto, brings together a family legacy of 300 years of sake brewing and a passion for whisky. Building on his father's Hanyu Distillery, Ichiro re-established the brand in 2008 and acquired 400 casks of Hanyu whiskey. Known for producing pure whiskies with natural color and no chill filtering, Chichibu uses two Forsyth-made copper pot stills holding 2,000 liters each. The result is a range of highly regarded, single expression and specialty releases, including the famous Ichiro's Malt Whisky.
