1 in 5 Australians experience a mental illness each year, yet less than half of those experiencing mental illness in Australia seek professional help. Exercise is just one of the activities which Australians can get involved in to maintain good mental health.

From 28 August to 11 September David Jones will donate 10% of activewear* sales to Black Dog Institute to help support mental health research and programs.

David Jones is encouraging Australians to maintain good mental health through exercise by supporting our charity partner, Black Dog Institute’s campaign, Exercise Your Mood.

Exercise can help boost serotonin, which plays a key role in the brain in regulating mood, sleep, and appetite. It can increase your levels of endorphins, which have natural mood-lifting properties.

Remember, start small and find something you feel good doing.
